Kimberly Louise Shaw Memorial Award - The Kimberly Louise Shaw Memorial Award for USDF Musical Freestyle is a perpetual trophy, donated by J.P. Handsel, in Kim's memory. Although she was only 15 years old when she died, Kim had already made a name for herself in the world of Freestyle Competition. Her 82% freestyle score was, and still may be, the highest score ever received at an AHSA competition. This trophy is awarded to the NCDCTA horse/rider combination, participating in the Annual NCDCTA Horse of the Year Awards, receiving the highest reported percentage score for a USDF musical freestyle from an AHSA/USDF recognized competition.
